Naam and the Feet

The laws of nature can be found in our feet. From the beginning of time, the action of man walking on the earth stimulated the nerve endings in the feet and in return, the foot received the earth’s energies. Today, modern man wearing shoes on pavement is no longer able to receive the same amount of healing energy. We need to care for our feet through exercises and working on specific reflex points that help to keep our feet healthy.

Every organ in the body has a nerve ending in the foot. A buildup of crystallizations at the nerve endings often precedes weakness of the organs and leads to disease. Reflexology is based on the principle that there are energy zones running throughout the body. By applying pressure to specific points on the feet and hands we can release energy blocks along these pathways, thus effecting the corresponding organs, glands and body parts.

Naam Yoga and Reflexology work on creating balance within the body and opening up the body's energy pathways. Simple Naam Yoga and other foot strengthening exercises keep the bones and muscles of the feet mobile and fluid. Try this simple exercise to help circulate the energy throughout the body. It helps you become unstuck!

  • Sit with a straight spine
  • The hands can be placed on the floor behind you for support
  • Extend your legs out in front
  • Rotate the ankles clockwise 8x
  • Reverse directions
